Christmas in Kingsport

We traveled to Kingsport the day after Christmas for a holiday visit with the Goods.

Wonderful Christmas Chaos

The two crazy cousins - shown here decorated as dogs - enjoyed playing and fighting with each other. It is a joy to see them play, but we all felt like we needed a recording going with statements such as "No," Share," "1, 2, 3" ... well you get the idea. It was cold outside so that limited the activity options. We found solace with the television.

Clara & Grandpa

Bays Mountain

While in Kingsport, we packed a picnic lunch and went to Bays Mountain.

Caleb and his Daddy - don't worry Grandpa was close by to assist.

We hadn't brought a stroller or the Baby Bjorn so Clara enjoyed the day being carried by Grandma or Grandpa.

Bays Mountain has wolves, deer, owls, turtles and more. Caleb is still asking for "More Animals."

Playing in Kingsport

We spent last weekend in Kingsport with Grandma and Grandpa. Caleb enjoyed his play time, and we were glad to relax a bit. When we pulled into our house after our trip, Caleb asked to go back to Grandpa's house. After driving for 5 hours, we didn't give him his way.

Grandma and Grandpa have a gravel patio and Caleb had a blast playing with the rocks. He put them in all kinds of containers including his shoes. He called them pasta. Lately he pretends everything is food so we didn't question him.

Caleb took an interest in Seth's golf clubs over the weekend.

Grandparent Visits

My parents were here while we were in the hospital and the first night we were home. Caleb was well entertained while Mommy and Daddy were away! He hardly missed us.

Seth's parents came in for a long weekend right after Clara was born. Caleb had a blast swinging and exploring the yard with Grandma and Grandpa. Clara just enjoyed being held by so many people that love her.

We felt very fortunate to have so much help while we were in the hospital and the first few days home.

Oh, and you can see from these two pictures how hard it is to get Caleb in a picture these days...

Sponge Bath

Mary Ann gave Clara her first sponge bath since leaving the hospital while they were here last week. She had also given Caleb his.

Clara seemed to enjoy having her head rubbed ... just like her mommy I guess.

Weekend in Kingsport

We spent last weekend in Kingsport. It was good to get away and Caleb enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa. Cousins Jackson and Jenna also came over for a night to visit.

Our last night there, the whole family came down with some kind of stomach bug or food poisoning. Here are Daddy and Caleb trying to rest before our drive back home.


Here's some video of Caleb and Jackson having a blast. Jackson was the one pulling Caleb down at Thanksgiving, but Caleb was the rougher one this time.
