Milestone Monday

Two milestones for you this Monday:

1. Caleb went pee-pee on the potty twice at school today! I worked with him all day on Saturday but all it got me was two puddles of pee-pee and a lot of frustration. Glad he performed for his teachers though!

2. Clara rolled over from back to stomach!

They grow up too fast....

So Long Summer

September starts this week, and I can't believe the summer is over. We've had a great time with Caleb and Clara. Here are some photos of some of our adventures.

We went to a place called Monkey Joe's several times over the summer, especially on really hot or rainy days. Caleb loved it because it has all kinds of jump houses; Mommy loved it because it was clean and kept little man busy until he was exhausted and ready for nap time.

I love this photo from last week at the pool. Caleb would ask several times a week to go to the "big pool."

We spent a lot of time with friends this summer. Here are Caleb, Addison, Claire and Drew at a pizza picnic this evening.

Clara isn't quite old enough to truly enjoy summer, but we had such a wonderful time with her. She's growing so fast - turned 3 months last week!

Sweet Siblings

Caleb likes to hug and kiss on Clara. He also likes to say "it's okay baby" when she cries.

We always sing to Caleb when we put him down for the night. His favorite from Mommy is Ba-Ba Black Sheep because I tickle him and make a big deal out of the "little boy who lives down the lane" part. I always say/sing "little boy, my little boy, my little Caleb" while making him laugh. I know it's probably not very appropriate for bed time, but I don't care; it's our special moment. Anyway, tonight we were singing and he stopped me and said, "how about for little Clara." Too sweet - makes me melt.

Bays Mountain

While in Kingsport, we packed a picnic lunch and went to Bays Mountain.

Caleb and his Daddy - don't worry Grandpa was close by to assist.

We hadn't brought a stroller or the Baby Bjorn so Clara enjoyed the day being carried by Grandma or Grandpa.

Bays Mountain has wolves, deer, owls, turtles and more. Caleb is still asking for "More Animals."

Playing in Kingsport

We spent last weekend in Kingsport with Grandma and Grandpa. Caleb enjoyed his play time, and we were glad to relax a bit. When we pulled into our house after our trip, Caleb asked to go back to Grandpa's house. After driving for 5 hours, we didn't give him his way.

Grandma and Grandpa have a gravel patio and Caleb had a blast playing with the rocks. He put them in all kinds of containers including his shoes. He called them pasta. Lately he pretends everything is food so we didn't question him.

Doing some swingin'

Caleb took an interest in Seth's golf clubs over the weekend.

Clara got to get outside a little too.

Caleb won't let you take his picture these days...

Caleb's 3 Current Favorite Words

3. Mine!

2. No!

1. Daddy (often said with a whine) - He's going through MAJOR Daddy days. Not sure if it is because of the arrival and the continuous stay of Clara or because I discipline him more (since I'm with him a lot more), but Caleb has lots of love for Daddy right now.

Opryland / Grandma Wise's Birthday

Grandma and Grandaddy Wise came for a visit last weekend. While they were here, we celebrated Grandma's birthday. While we had some rough moments like people sick with a stomach virus and crying babies, we had a good time, and we hope she enjoyed her birthday. The highlight of the weekend was a stroll through Opryland Hotel.

There was a kiddie train ride set up in the hotel, and Caleb thought it was super cool. He is still asking to "ride more train."

Somehow I managed to not get a picture of Grandma or Grandaddy and Clara, so here's a picture of my sweet girl just hanging out in her bouncy seat.
